Phuket, Thailand is now open for quarantine-free international travel for the following travellers:

  • Fully vaccinated adults from approved countries
  • Children travelling with vaccinated parents

All travellers must stay at a SHA+ certified hotel or resort in Phuket for a minimum of 7 nights before travelling to other destinations in Thailand.

Pre-arrival & arrival 

To travel to Phuket, you will require:

  • Certificate of Entry from your Thai Embassy or Consulate
  • Confirmation of booking at SHA+ hotel or hotels
  • Negative PCR-RT test result no longer than 72 hours before departure
  • Two pre-booked RT-PCR tests
  • A direct flight into Phuket, with no transit in Bangkok
  • Alerting app installed on your smartphone
  • COVID-19 health insurance with minimum coverage of USD 100,000

Your stay in Phuket 

You will be required to:

  • Stay at a SHA+ certified hotel or resort
  • Undergo 2 further RT-PCR tests, on days 1 and 6 for adults and children (6 years and older)

Departure

  • If you are staying less than 7 nights in Phuket, you must fly out of Phuket to an international destination
  • If you are staying for more than 7 nights, you will then be able to travel to any domestic destination in Thailand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can travel to Phuket from abroad? 

  • Fully vaccinated international travellers
  • Non-vaccinated travellers will be under AQ and must stay 10 days for travellers transiting by air and sea; and 14 days for travellers transiting by land.

Must children be vaccinated and/or have a negative COVID-19 test to travel to Phuket?

Children under 18 years do not need to be vaccinated if they are travelling with fully vaccinated parents. All travellers, including children, must have proof of a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before arriving in Phuket.

At Phuket International Airport Arrival Hall

You must download the ‘Mor Chana’ mobile application as soon as possible after landing.
Upon arrival at Immigration, you are required to:

  1. Produce Certificate of Vaccination or proof that you have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days prior to your departure to Thailand and not more than 12 months ago
  2. Proof that you spent the previous days in a country on the approved list (unless you are a resident of Thailand)
  3. Confirmation of booking at SHA+ hotel or hotels
  4. A Certificate of Entry from your Thai Embassy or Consulate
  5. A negative RT-PCR test result from no longer than 72 hours before departure
  6. A flight direct into Phuket, with no transit in Bangkok
  7. COVID-19 Health insurance with minimum coverage of US 100,000  
  8. The ‘Mor Chana’ application loaded in your mobile telephone and ‘Check In’ at Phuket International Airport 
  9. Fully paid and pre-booked RT-PCR Test is required

The following exceptions apply:

  • 10 full days quarantine is required for travellers arriving by air and sea, including children, who are not vaccinated or have incomplete dose and 14 full days quarantine for non-vaccinated travellers arriving by land. All travellers are required to do RT-PCR Test for 2 times (on day 0-1 upon arrival and day 6-7 prior to departure).
  • Non-vaccinated children must be under 18 years old and travelling with fully vaccinated parents

Where can travellers apply for the Certificate of Entry (COE)?

  • The Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General takes 3 working days to process step 1 and step 3 respectively, so please leave enough time to apply.

Guidelines for travellers entering Phuket

Travellers must provide proof of their hotel booking to confirm their stay has been fully paid. If the staying period is less than 7 nights, it is mandatory to do a COVID-19 test on day 5. Any additional expenses connected to this will be paid for by the guest.

How many times does the traveller need to do COVID testing whilst in Phuket?

  • Undergo two further RT-PCR tests, on days 1 and 6 for adults and children (6 years and older)
  • Covid-19 testing is at your own expense THB 2,800 per person/time
  • If your covid-19 test is positive, you will be immediately admitted to a hospital for treatment.

While you are in Phuket you can go everywhere but you must strictly follow the DMHTTA precautions:
