sala ayutthaya, the riverside boutique hotel overlooking Ayutthaya’s ancient temples, has unveiled a new art exhibition dedicated to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX, who reigned for 70 years and holds a special place in the hearts of all Thai people.
Created to coincide with Father’s Day in Thailand, which is celebrated on 5th December, King Bhumibol’s birthday, this new exhibition celebrates the life, legacy and accomplishments of the highly-revered king. It also highlights the deep relationship between sala ayutthaya and the artistic community, and provides a platform for local artists to showcase their work to the public.
This latest exhibition focuses on the work of Worapol Nualla-ong, an award-winning young artist who graduated from Bangkok’s Silpakorn University. His collection includes contemporary paintings and sculptures depicting King Bhumibol at various stages of his life.
Running from 20th November 2018 until 31st January 2019, this public exhibition is open to all hotel guests and other visitors.
