Private, culinary and cultural experiences
A private boat ride, market tour and cooking class with Aoy (Bang Wa)
Want a non-touristy boat ride in Bangkok? Hop into Aoy’s boat after exploring the bustling Don Wai market and enjoy a breezy and beautiful ride along the Tha Chin river to Aoy’s riverside home. Here, in the calm of her garden oasis, you will be greeted with a refreshing drink before you roll up your sleeves and slice, dice and learn to cook an authentic Thai meal in Aoy’s studio kitchen. After your cooking class, you will dine on some of Aoy’s favorite dishes that you helped create such as red curry with duck, pomelo salad, and fried pork with finger root, followed by dessert. Be prepared to share many laughs over drinks with a charming and fun-loving host who delights in sharing her culture and cuisine with travelers.
Market tour, Mae Varee visit and cooking class with Cherry (Thong Lor)
Walk with Cherry to a local fresh market right in the heart of Bangkok’s fashionable Thong Lor district. Pinch, sniff, touch and taste some of the exotic tropical fruits and vegetables you’ll use to prepare lunch. Next, Cherry will take you Mae Varee, Bangkok’s most popular mango sticky rice stall where she will purchase your dessert. Hop in a taxi for the short trip to her cozy central Bangkok apartment and join her in her kitchen for a traditional Thai hands-on cooking class. Enjoy the meal you helped prepare that may include favorite dishes such as pineapple fried rice, tom kaa gai (delicious chicken and coconut milk soup), and tangy yum wun sen (glass noodle salad with shrimp in a lime sauce). You will conclude your meal with a dessert of Bangkok’s famous mango sticky rice.
A private gourmet meal in a beautiful home with Mor (Khlong Toei)
Meer Mor in her beautifully decorated shophouse, designed in an urban rustic style with carefully selected and custom-made furniture. Your menu may include dishes such as Thai seafood dumplings with abalone and young coconut, fresh spring rolls, chicken in a white curry made with lemongrass, coconut milk and lime sauce, or a creative take on Northern Thai stir-fried noodles with succulent crab. Your meal will end with a refreshing dessert of coconut pudding or homemade ice-cream made with seasonal fruits.
